The Decline of a Nation

I find that the Old Testament books of Kings (I & II) shed a great deal of light on our own time--not in spite of the fact that they are ancient and far removed from us culturally, but precisely because of that. The distance of time quells the distractions of partisan politics and social issues and helps us, I believe, to put them into a larger, clearer context of history...and of spirituality.
